Subject: Stayed in Kusadasi, the hotel was quiet but only a 5 mintute
Stayed in Kusadasi, the hotel was quiet but only a 5 mintute walk into town and there were places to eat even closer than that. The marina was just over the road and the harbour where the cruise ships come in was about a fifteen minute walk, just before Pigeon Island, which was nice to visit. Town had many shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Turks can be a bit pushy but if you politeley say no thank you then they are fine. There are cheap clothes bags etc to buy. We went on the jeep safari which was good fun and the half day Ephesus tour, This was very good but very hot, not much shade. It was quite an amazing place to see and on the way we stopped at a cermaics workshop where we saw a pot being made and then went to the shop where there were some really nice handpainted ceramics. The beach in town wasn’t up to much but we went to Ladies beach a couple of times and this was better.

The resort itself very clean and well maintained, let down by the filthy beach and the stagnent river of water that ran down the side of the pearl bar stunk at the side of the resort management clean up your act.

Abit busy, abit crowded ,lots of traffic, lots of irish bars , lots of shops ,resort caters more for european travellers than traditional turkish experience. Lots to do on a night on a day many ancient sites close by and also many excursion such as dolphin show , jeep safari , water park etc. Many beaches most very busy and full up , i suggest getting a bus and going to Pygale beach costs ?1 and is clean , not many people , doesn’t get advertised like all the other beaches but still has all facilities such as toilets and showers , beach bar/cafe .

we have a great holiday and have booked to go back with first choice next august! even taking extra people this time! the only complaint i would have was bodrum airport, arriving their at early hours in the morning an having to que to pay your ?10.00 for over an hour! when your tired its so annoying! the thing that keeps you going is knowing you have just begun your holiday! also the long coach journey to your resort, but we have just booked for next year and the new airport is only a 45 min transfer. also coming home we had 2 hour delay at bodrum with no seats, the children with hungry an thirsty, i ordered 5 soft drinks and was charged ?17.50! we are on holiday and im not tight but my goodness what a rip off! so take your own water! apart from that, the holiday was great and well done first choice an we have booked for august 2008 already!
